For you other Tumblr users out there

staff:

The datacenter hosting Tumblr’s primary infrastructure just suffered major connectivity issues, leaving the site inaccessible for the last 30 minutes.  All access is now restored, and we’re investigating the cause.

Our deepest apologies to anyone affected.

Hmmm…can this be classified as useless information? I just checked the status of my Macbook Pro repair and the above is what I see on the Apple Support page. All it tells me is information I already know. I visited a retail store yesterday so the first step I already know. I left without my system, but with a work authorization stating what’s being repaired. So I can safely assume step 2. Step 3 hasn’t happened, but I was told I’d receive a call once my system was ready for pickup. So seeing step 3 fulfilled on this website would again, be uselss. I suspect the dates included in each step indicate when each step happened. Again, more useless information as I was told my system would be repaired no later than 3/29. My question is this: why have a site dedicated with the repair states any person would already know?! What would have been useful: to know where in the queue of repairs my system was in. For example, are there 2 jobs ahead of mine? Or have any of the necessary parts arrived? Also, it would have been helpful to have an estimate time of completeion or an approximate pick-up date. They don’t get the name “Genius” for nothing, right?! So I guess to answer my initial question, it’s safe to say this information is indeed useless! Grrrr…
